Oussama
Status:
– Setup dev environment and ran MarkUs test installation on my machine successfully
– Learning Git, Ruby

Next Steps:
– Learn Rails

Michael Ing
Status:
– Updated code for issue 813 so that is now includes a warning message when adding members to groups with not enough grace days.
– Worked on issues 837, 835, as well fix a failing test case

Next Steps:
– Issue 475 still has a few functions that have not been fully removed yet.
– Work on task related to integration testing.

Road Blocks:
– None

Andrey
Status:
– Learning Ruby
– Setting up work environment

Next Steps:
– Learn Ruby on Rails
– Run MarkUs in environment

Road Blocks:
– Working with github
– Spending enough time on learning Ruby
– Away from work environment most of the day

Joey
Status:
Have a functioning dev server, fairly familiar with Ruby and Rails but not as much with this older version. (No Coffeescript? Prototype? Gonna miss HAML…)

Next Steps:
Just going through some of the code/markup, and testing out use cases on the site looking for anything that could be a bug, or that could use some improvement as far as usability goes. I already have lots of
ideas for tweaking the styles and maybe optimizing some of the ajax calls. I will also take a look at the bugs currently in github and see if I can reproduce any of them.

Roadblocks:
Nothing at the moment, but I’m sure there will be many when I actually have a patch to submit!

Mike Margel
Status:
– Set up dev environment and installed & ran MarkUs.
– Learned some Ruby.

Next Steps:
– Learn more Ruby.
– Learn Rails.

Roadblocks:
– Not sure how to proceed from here.

Joel
Status:
– Read “Ruby on Rails for Dummies”
– Set up dev environment
– Set myself up with GitHub and cloned a copy of MarkUs
– Ran current MarkUs on local server

Next Steps:
– Poke around with the MarkUs code
– Read more MarkUs docs/blogs/issues

Road Blocks:
– Not sure how I can contribute, just orienting myself at the moment.
– Tech hurdles. Slowly wrapping my head around Ruby and Rails

Kira McCoan
Status:
– Did RailsForZombies tutorial (funny and informative!)
– Set up markus and ran on local server
– Started reading more about Rails tutorials

Next Steps:
– Start playing with MarkUs (perhaps watch some of the screencasts)
– Read more MarkUs docs/blogs/issues
– set up a dev env

Road Blocks:
– Not sure which dev env would be best.. aptana vs xcode vs ?…
