  1. Fantastic screencast! Really polished. The animations when grades are entered are so cool 🙂

I noticed that loading the students page takes pretty long. It seems the on-the-fly average calculation might be causing this. It may be worth doing the average calculation each time forms are released/unreleased. We do something similar for assignment averages. I can imagine that students are probably less patient than instructors, especially since students think they “only” log in (instructors know that they’ve just released marks). What are your thoughts on this? Should we create a ticket?

  2. Great job Farah! Excellent screencast! You’ve worked long and hard on this, and you’ve really come through. 😀

I also noticed the long login time…is that typical performance for you for a class of that size? I thought it might have just been an unfortunate hiccup – but if Severin is right, then we might want to go with his pre-processing suggestion.

  3. Thanks guys!

I’ve noticed that running QuickTime (which is what I used to make the screencast) on my machine tends to slow things down. That might have been responsible for the long login time. When I get a chance, I’ll double check this though and file a ticket if the login time really is long. I like Severin’s pre-processing suggestion.
