Dashboard Design Prototype
As many of you may know, we’ve had an empty Dashboard view for quite a while now. So as part of my UI/UX role this term, I’ve came up with a new design for it! Here it is:
Feedback:
- Karen: Instructors often like to know the assignment average as a fraction in addition to the percentage.
New Format: “Assignment Average: 70/100 (70%)” — for example

Nice!
Maybe we could add a little “progress bar” on the right of the number of submitted and graded assignments. So that the numbers show up visually too.
It might also be worth printing the current date (or better, yet, an offset to it) next to the deadline. I’m assuming red indicates that the due date is in the past?
Great work!

I like the idea of having a more visual representation of the grading/submission progress. However, I’m not sure if it will be too much clutter.
As for displaying the current date — I love that idea! It seems like a very useful dashboard element to have too!
But in terms of the offset, I’m not sure how much users would find that helpful. If we include the date, I think it would be quite clear already. But this would be one of those things we’d have to interview actual users to know.
Thanks for the suggestions Severin!
